Hypnotica on Respect
Posted in General on 01/08/2010 06:46 am by DJ Fuji
I was talking to Eric/Hypnotica today at Johnny Soporno’s Las Vegas AVN event and he brought up an interesting point. We were talking about where the community is heading and the recent influx of new instructors and Hypnotica pointed out that there’s no sense of respect among the new guys these days. He was referring to all the bad mouthing going on recently, from people trash-talking Ross to David D to Mystery and so on. It reminded me of what comedian Aries Spears said about the Soulja Boy – Ice T feud. The basic premise being that a lot of times the younger generations forget where they came from. They forget that the elder generations paved the way for them. Nothing going on today would be possible without the work of those who came before us. In the Marine Corps we almost worship the “Old Corps” Marines from yester-year. I’m not saying that we should go to that extreme, but Eric had a really good point – no matter how you feel about RJ or Mystery or any of the old timers, they deserve a lot of respect for making all of this possible. How easy we forget that in our current self-absorbed world.
On that note, I’m going to call my parents and see how they’re doing.

Yeah, to me it’s not even about respecting “old timers.” It’s about respecting everyone. It’s about reaching into our hearts and realizing that EVERYONE deserves to be treated well.
I still have my lapses into judgments of others, but today I’m renewing my commitment to seeing the best in everyone and appreciating all their gifts to me and to the world.
Thanks for a life-affirming post, DJ Fuji

Love the Covino & Rich shout out! Good shit Fuji.

Especially Mystery and RJ are two twisted individuals who are responsible for screwing up thousands of guys with their screwed up methods (RJ) or life attitudes (Mystery).
Respect? These guys deserve the utmost CONTEMPT imaginable.
The ‘new’ generation in the community is just smarter and less gullible than the old one.
Of course it hurts Hypnotica’s wallet, so he whines about it.
As someone who hangs out with one of the biggest charlatans in the industry (Mehow), I can’t believe he even dares to speak.
Or maybe he feels important because he was featured in Neil’s Strauss Annihilation Method DVD’s, which sold for $4000 in one of the biggest internet marketing ploy in history.
Maybe we just had enough of being conned, Hypnotica.

All I gotta say is if Hypnotica says it I respect it.

Nobody is perfect. But without Mystery and RJ, there would be no community as we know it. That alone deserves respect.

FUCKING 100% agreement with DjFuji and Hypnotica.
You can say whatever about MM, SS, so on and so forth.
The thing is, as I said, everything has a time and a place.
People so widely misunderstand negs, its pure ignorance. MM does fucking work.
Now they think you are a ‘robot’ . Dudes, when you have to solve calculus, you gotta use brains. When particle physics enthusiasts go through complex calculations, they act like robots following complex steps.
As for the really hot and ‘desired’ chicks out there, MM works perfect.
I don’t say use one style, hell mix it up.
Most people don’t even know what NLP is and then diss SS. SS is not nlp you fools. NLP is a model of eye accessing cues and a model of ‘modelling’ itself. How you think RSD was born? answer = Tyler modelled successful business companies.
If you know psychological persuasion, you know social calibration and know whats up, and you have some inner game, you will nail any chick whatsoever however the circumstances may be.
This is true.
Inner game this, direct this.
Its all bullshit.
The thing is, they created this shit, and you have to respect them.
If the community didn’t exist no way would have Badboy and others come up with this Direct style. The Inner Game.
All these people claim we don’t go indirect we go direct, 99% of them don’t even know what direct is. They think if they don’t go indirect they go direct. Wtf? lol.
We owe everything to the people who started it. The veterans of ASF and mASF.
without them, we wouldn’t be shit.
word.

“The basic premise being that a lot of times the younger generations forget where they came from. They forget that the elder generations paved the way for them. Nothing going on today would be possible without the work of those who came before us.”
Are you fucking stupid? Are you comparing… (edited by admin)
Admin Edit: I’m all for constructive criticism and discussion, but negativity and disrespect like this (ironically) has no place here. –DJ Fuji

Here is where DJFuji and I respectfully disagree.
I side with Erika in that we should have a global respect for all people, regardless of who they are, past and present. Ideally you respect Mystery as much as a retarded homeless man, as much as you do Donald Trump. People are people.
As for holding back on calling out a sham or harmful teacher when we see it, I think no past performance should change our behavior that way.
If you sincerely think Ross Jeffries is hurting the game of new PUA’s, then by all means, call him out. If you think Mystery is awful, then say so.
There’s a common quote of “The community wouldn’t EXIST if not for ”
This is something I like to call the Messiah Fallacy.
There would be no rock n’ roll without the Beatles. No heavy metal without Black Sabbath. No science fiction without H.G. Wells. No global spread of monotheism without Jesus and Paul.
This is an ego-strangler, but whatever you bring to the table in your lifetime would have been brought by someone else, given enough time. There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come.
No community without Ross Jeffries? Go to meetup.com and see how many groups there are. Google “forum” with any subjet you have in mind.
As an example, there’s a “learn telekinesis” forum, with hundreds of members. Do you seriously think that no online community would have sprung up if an RJ student hadn’t created alt.seduction.fast? Would no one have ever demonstrated in person how to approach without Mystery?
While we can give the old-timers credit for bringing us the goods first, the real credit should be for them jumping on the opportunity before there was competition. As businessmen and communicators, they did excellently, but make no mistake believing that there would not be a community without RJ and Mystery. In fact, it could even be argued that if RJ never existed, then the hypnosis fascination would have been cut short, and more legitimate pick-up knowledge would have been distributed faster.
Maybe without Mystery, the community wouldn’t have been stuck awkwardly learning magic tricks and misinterpreting neg theory for so long. I’m not saying this is the case; the community definitely could have turned out worse. But the old timers did not give us the gift of pickup. They had the honor of presenting to us the gift that was already coming.
And even if someone did a great service for us a long time ago, it isn’t a reason for us to focus on it now. Suppose you think that Barry Kirkey went nuts with Revolution 31. It’s not necessary to include an asterisk “But I love his posts back in 2003 as 26.”
Whether or not you respect Anakin Skywalker’s contribution to the Jedi Republic, he’s still fucking Darth Vader.
The worst thing we can do is choose to hold back valid, helpful criticism because we want to honor our so-called forefathers. It doesn’t help new students, and it doesn’t even help the gurus, aside from an ego stroke.

Really really valid points here, Dan. Here are my thoughts…
In terms of calling people out, I tend to err on the side of, “If you dont have anything nice to say…” Yes, there are exceptions (most notably with misinformation), but for the most part, maliciously badmouthing other people (especially competitors) rarely results in anything good. Even if you’re right about it, half the time all it does is drive more traffic and exposure to that person or company anyway.
I do agree with both you and Erika that respect SHOULD be given globally, but there’s also something to be said about especially respecting one’s elders — or in this case — those who came before us. That doesn’t excuse bad behavior, nor does it mean we should bite our tongues and never criticize them. But I see it like respecting one’s parents. Respecting your parents doesn’t mean you bow down to them and never disagree or voice your opinions. The fact that your parents made sacrifices and raised you (assuming they did) deserves a certain level of respect, even if their other potential flaws meant you didn’t otherwise respect them as individuals.
By that same token, saying that you shouldn’t respect RJ or Mystery because “their work would have just been done by someone else” is like saying you shouldn’t respect your parents because if they weren’t around, you’d probably be taken care of by the state or by relatives or foster parents.

I am glad a lot of people are “getting it” Those that don’t usually aren’t the ones participating positively anyways.
What people fail to see is the process. The process of becoming. Everyone is imperfectly perfect nobody has all the answers. You can learn a bit from everyone and everyone is some sense is a master to ourselves. The point is not to “Guru worship” The point is realize where this concentrated knowledge evolved from. Many of the “Guru’s” have put time into this community to bring about knowledge. Maybe not all agree with it but if you are keen enough you can distill gems from anything. The point is these are people who did not just rehash stuff they came up with original ideas” something this community has been lacking” Whinny bitches”somewhat men” complain and find fault. real men are able to decipher through what works and what doesn’t through trial and error. Imagine 15 years ago there were no books on the subject we all learned through experimentation. If you want to spend your time bitching get creative and come up with something worth teaching instead. Innovation is a rare trait.

There is a diffrence between crticism and bad mouthing people.
Critique is important to bring things forward but nobody has the right to put someone down especially if they earned their respect like mystery, even if I disagree with his theory on some areas nowadays.
02/25/2010 at 23:03
This post reminds me of the book “American Gods”. Anyway, who are these “new” guys and where are they taking the community to?
I’m into the self-help / natural aspect of the game and dissing the elders is just lame.
